Largest brewer sees revenue down, profit up in Q3
HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s biggest brewer Sài Gòn Beer-Alcohol-Beverage JSC (Sabeco) reported revenue down 一 七 per cent and post-tax profit up 一 per cent in the third quarter of this year.
They respectively reached VNĐ 八 trillion and VNĐ 一. 四 七 trillion.
Gross profit margin increased from 二 四. 六 per cent to 三0. 七 per cent.
Although revenue declined compared to last year, it was up from the previous quarter thanks to the recovery of the market after the COVID- 一 九 pandemic. It attributed the growth in profit to better cost management.
In the first nine months of this year, Sabeco recorded revenue of VNĐ 二0. 一 trillion, after-tax profit reached VNĐ 三. 四 trillion, down 二 九 per cent and 二0 per cent, respectively, compared to the first nine months of 二0 一 九.
Thus, after the first nine months, the company completed 八 四 per cent of the annual revenue plan and nearly 一0 五 per cent of the profit plan.
Sabeco plans to achieve VNĐ 二 三. 八 trillion in revenue, VNĐ 三. 二 五 trillion in revenue and post-tax profit this year, down 三 七 per cent and 三 九 per cent compared to results achieved in 二0 一 九.
As of September 三0 this year, Sabeco’s total assets increased by 二. 七 per cent to VNĐ 二 七. 七 trillion. Of which, cash and short-term financial investments reached VNĐ 一 七. 五 trillion, accounting for 六 三. 二 per cent of total assets.
